    Jacksonville’s Urban Core could see more development after city approves rezoning of vacant elementary school

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Extra growth may quickly be coming to Jacksonville’s City Core.

    In line with News4JAX’s partners at Jacksonville Daily Record, the vacant J. Allen Axson Elementary College may develop into the house for a number of companies, together with a lodge, restaurant, bar, and self-storage items.

    The newspaper stories that town’s planning fee voted 6-0 on the rezoning.

    Some neighbors within the space, which is close to the Phoenix Arts District, advised News4JAX that the constructing has been vacant and run down for a few years, and they might welcome the arrival of any enterprise to assist breathe life again into the neighborhood.

    “I believe that bringing some type of industrial enterprise to this space is likely to be factor as a result of it’s going to carry extra folks to this space,” stated a Jacksonville resident named Colin.

    He added that whereas a lodge is probably not the very best factor for the realm proper now, it may very well be a “good match” in a couple of years following extra growth.

    The property is scheduled for one more metropolis council vote on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
