TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida man pleaded responsible in federal court docket after he assaulted an American Airways gate agent at Dallas-Fort Price Worldwide Airport, in accordance with on-line court docket paperwork.
Keith Charles Owens pleaded responsible this month to a cost of interfering with safety screening personnel, court docket information present. A sentencing is scheduled for Could.
Owens confirmed up at gate A36 at DFW on Oct. 5, which was the improper gate for his flight, in accordance with court docket information. He was purported to be at gate A35.
The person walked over to gate A35 after being directed by a gate agent, who radioed to the agent at A35 that Owens seemed to be intoxicated, prosecutors mentioned. At gate A35, he tried to stroll down the jet bridge with out scanning his boarding move.
Owens turned upset with the worker after he was stopped from boarding the airplane.
CCTV footage confirmed Owens stroll again over to gate A36 and seize the shoulders and neck of the gate agent, after which punch him within the face.
Prosecutors mentioned the assault delayed boarding for the flight and triggered “quite a few” American Airways workers to overlook a number of days of labor.
Owens was arrested in December in South Florida.
