    China says US is ‘playing with fire’ after latest military aid for Taiwan

    BEIJING – The Chinese language authorities protested Sunday the most recent American bulletins of navy gross sales and help to Taiwan, warning america that it’s “taking part in with fireplace.”

    U.S. President Joe Biden approved Saturday the supply of as much as $571 million in Protection Division materials and providers and in navy schooling and coaching for Taiwan. Individually, the Protection Division stated Friday that $295 million in navy gross sales had been accepted.

    A Chinese language International Ministry assertion urged the U.S. to cease arming Taiwan and cease what it known as “harmful strikes that undermine peace and stability within the Taiwan Strait.”

    Taiwan is a democratic island of 23 million people who the Chinese language authorities claims as its territory and says should come beneath its management. U.S. military sales and help purpose to assist Taiwan defend itself and deter China from launching an assault.

    The $571 million in navy help comes on prime of Biden’s authorization of $567 million for a similar functions in late September. The navy gross sales embody $265 million for about 300 tactical radio methods and $30 million for 16 gun mounts.

    Taiwan’s International Ministry welcomed the approval of the 2 gross sales, saying in a social media put up on X that it reaffirmed the U.S. authorities’s “dedication to our protection.”
