TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Flags might be flown at half-staff on all native and state buildings on Monday in honor of Memorial Day.
Gov. DeSantis issued a memorandum on Friday ordering the flags at half-staff from dawn till midday.
“On Memorial Day, we honor the heroes of the USA Navy who made the final word sacrifice for our nation,” the governor wrote. “Our hearts are stuffed with gratitude for his or her unwavering dedication to defending this Nation’s freedom within the face of grave hazard.”
The order additionally asks for Florida residents to take part in a second of silence at 3:00 p.m. on Monday to honor these fallen.
