ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — Passengers flying out of Orlando Worldwide Airport (MCO) over the weekend have been left stranded after Silver Airways all of the sudden canceled all of its flights, in line with a report from NBC affiliate WESH.
An announcement obtained from MCO’s Senior Vice President of Public Affairs and Group Relations Angela Starke learn:
“We obtained notification yesterday afternoon that, efficient instantly, all departing and arriving flights with Silver Airways are canceled.”
It’s unclear what was behind the sudden cancellations.
The surprising transfer comes simply two months after the airline issued an open letter to its clients, saying they voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 chapter.
Silver Airways affirmed to its clients that each one flight tickets stay legitimate and that they continue to be below regular operations.
“We anticipate finishing this course of by the primary quarter of 2025, rising stronger and able to proceed serving you with the identical dedication we have upheld for over 13 years,” they stated within the launch on Dec. 30.
The airline added that the choice will enable them to bear a monetary restructuring they hope will strengthen the corporate and profit its passengers.
