JUNO BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Eight inexperienced sea turtles have been launched again into the Atlantic Ocean on Tuesday, practically a month after an arctic blast introduced a rare snowfall to northern Florida and left the aquatic reptiles affected by a situation often called chilly gorgeous.
A complete of 17 sea turtles discovered stranded final month alongside Florida’s northeastern Atlantic Coast have been dropped at the Loggerhead Marinelife Heart in Juno Seashore, north of West Palm Seashore, for rehabilitation.
“There are such a lot of turtles that have been affected by that chilly gorgeous occasion that occurred a number of weeks in the past,” lead veterinarian Dr. Heather Barron stated. “The chilly actually suppresses their immune system as a result of they’re reptiles, and their physique temperature is taken from the encircling temperature of the water.”
