MONROE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Crews continued battling a brush fireplace Wednesday that fully shut down entry to the Florida Keys.
Each US-1 and Card Sound Highway had been shut down on Tuesday because the busy spring break season will get underway.
The 18 Mile Stretch has since reopened, however Card Sound Highway remained closed Wednesday.
Monroe County officers urged residents to keep away from the realm of the fireplace.
The fireplace has burned round 3,600 acres and is 20% contained, based on a report from NBC affiliate WTVJ.
There aren’t any reported accidents or threats to close by constructions.
