    Off-duty Florida deputy caught riding motorcycle with fake 'CHASEM3' tag: officials

    DELTONA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Volusia County Sheriff’s deputy has resigned in lieu of termination after she was caught using a bike with a faux tag that learn, “CHASEM3.”

    Former Deputy Erica Muzzy was concerned in a sequence of incidents Saturday evening in Deltona and can also be being investigated for an obvious social media account the place she confirmed herself doing “reckless stunt using on public roads,” the sheriff’s workplace stated.

    Deputies first encountered Muzzy round 8:51 p.m. Saturday evening as she was with a gaggle of different motorcyclists at a Wawa on Howland Boulevard. Officers stated they acknowledged a type of riders as a motorcyclist who had fled from a site visitors cease earlier that night.

    The suspect referred to as out to Muzzy as he was being detained, and in keeping with authorities, she turned “argumentative” with the deputy conducting the investigation.

    The fleeing motorcyclist was in the end arrested and brought to jail, deputies stated. Muzzy then left the realm on her motorbike.

    Solely about two hours later, a deputy pulled over a bike on I-4 close to for having a tag that was flipped up and never seen. Authorities stated the rider was Muzzy.

    When flipped down, the tag learn, “CHASEM3.”

    Muzzy was charged with possession of a counterfeit license plate and brought to the Department Jail with a $2,500 bond.

    She had been a deputy with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Workplace since 2021. The sheriff’s workplace stated its inside investigation into her conduct on-line is ongoing.
