MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — A person from the UK was arrested in Miami Seashore on Friday for six counts of voting illegally, in accordance with the Florida Division of Regulation Enforcement.
James Ross Wightman, 65, a British Nationwide, was arrested for voter fraud following a multi-agency investigation, together with FDLE’s Election Crime Unit, the Division of Homeland Safety, and ICE.
“In Florida, we uphold the rule of legislation in our elections,” FDLE Commissioner Mark Glass mentioned. “Because of the management of Governor DeSantis, anybody who seeks to illegally solid their poll shall be held accountable to the fullest extent of the legislation.”
In line with the FDLE, Wightman was voluntarily deported from the U.S. again in 1989 following a drug offense in Hawaii and overstayed his Customer Visa. He returned to the States, falsely affirming being a citizen on a voter registration kind he submitted in November 2000.
In 2013, Wightman gave the Florida Division of Freeway Security and Motor Car a false Ohio beginning certification to attempt to renew his Florida driver’s license.
The FDLE mentioned he used this certification to illegally vote in six native and nationwide elections in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Wightman was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Middle.
