OCALA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 15-year-old boy wished for armed tried theft was delivered to Florida deputies to be turned in, by his personal mom, in response to the Marion County Sheriff’s Workplace.
On Dec. 17, deputies stated a sufferer was sitting in his automotive, parked exterior the Qwik King comfort retailer, positioned on Oak Highway in Ocala.
That is when a teen boy reportedly approached the sufferer and requested for cash.
When the sufferer informed him no, the teenager pulled down a ski masks and pointed a gun on the sufferer, demanding cash and for him to get out of the automotive, officers stated.
The suspect, who believed the sufferer to even be armed, fled the scene on a motorbike.
Following the incident, detectives shared a photograph snapped from a safety digicam exterior the shop.
Officers stated the 15-year-old’s mom noticed the picture, acknowledged the suspect as her son, and introduced him to the sheriff’s workplace to show himself in.
The boy admitted to the crime, saying he knew what he was going to do when he left his home. He additionally informed deputies that the gun he used was a BB gun, and after seeing the picture circulating on social media, he removed it.
In line with deputies, the teenager was arrested on a cost of tried theft with a firearm and was taken to the Division of Juvenile Justice.
