VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A person was arrested Saturday after Volusia County deputies mentioned he pointed a gun at one other driver throughout a street rage incident on Interstate 4.
A 911 caller reported {that a} passenger in a black Acura sedan stood up by the automotive’s sunroof and pointed a handgun at his car.
The sheriff’s workplace mentioned the 2 automobiles had been concerned in a near-collision earlier on westbound I-4 close to Daytona Seashore, “prompting honking and an trade of gestures.”
When deputies arrived on the scene, they mentioned the passenger had no identification.
He informed deputies his title was Wilton Vargas Jr., and indicated he entered the U.S. from the Dominican Republic by crossing the U.S.-Mexico border roughly 6 years in the past.
He was later recognized as 25-year-old Winderson Emiliano Baez Vasquez.
Vasquez was taken to the Volusia County Jail on aggravated assault with a lethal weapon, improper show of a weapon, possession of marijuana and obstruction.
Deputies contacted HSI and Border Patrol relating to Vasquez’s arrest. An ICE detainer was positioned on him on the jail.
