    Group chases down accused rapist who attacked Florida girl, deputies say

    MIAMI (WFLA) — When Mike Santiague noticed Antwan Johnson, he knew one thing was flawed.

    “Once I locked eyes with him, I knew the scenario was severe,” Santiague stated.

    According to NBC affiliate WTVJ, Miami-Dade deputies stated Johnson allegedly raped an 11-year-old lady after tricking her into going to the ladies’s toilet at Gwen Cherry Park in Miami. He then adopted her and attacked the kid, investigators acknowledged.

    Nevertheless, a witness walked into the restroom and noticed the crime. Johnson then tried to flee whereas the witness screamed after him.

    “(She stated) cease him, he simply raped this lady,” Santiague stated.

    Santiague and several other different folks then chased the suspect as he tried to flee the park into a close-by neighborhood.

    “He was leaping gates, acquired caught behind the home and we cornered him at that time,” Santiague stated.

    The group then restrained Johnson till deputies arrived.

    Santiague stated he noticed the lady’s mom after the assault.

    “She was very upset and harm,” he stated. “Phrases cannot even clarify the look on her face as a result of it regarded like she was not even there.”

    WTVJ reported that Miami-Dade County Parks Director Christina White issued a press release saying the security of park guests is a prime precedence and that her division is “deeply saddened” by the assault at Gwen Cherry Park.

    “Our hearts exit to the sufferer and their household, and we want them a full restoration throughout this extremely tough time,” the assertion learn.
