    Governor signs 3 veteran-support bills in Port Charlotte

    PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (WFLA) — Gov. Ron DeSantis signed three payments geared toward shoring up assist for veterans in Florida Friday morning.

    He held a press convention on the Douglas T. Jacobson State Veterans’ Nursing Dwelling in Port Charlotte, the place he and different supporters spoke in regards to the laws.

    DeSantis signed House Bill 797, “Veteran and Partner Nursing Dwelling Beds,” Senate Bill 116, “Veterans,” and SB 910, “Veterans’ Advantages Help,” into legislation.

    HB 797 will permit sure expert nursing properties to designate beds particularly for veterans and their spouses, and assist streamline healthcare entry by eradicating “bureaucratic obstacles,” the governor stated.

    SB 116 will increase suicide prevention applications and directs the state’s Division of Veterans Affairs to create a statewide plan for grownup healthcare facilities devoted to veterans.

    SB 910 creates new protections for veterans navigating the advantages course of by inserting extra limits and restrictions on profit advisors, together with banning compensation for referrals and capping payouts for advising or consulting on advantages.

    Friday was a symbolic selection for the bill-signing ceremony as a result of June 6 is the 81st anniversary of D-Day.

    “On D-Day and every single day, Florida honors those that served our nation in uniform,” DeSantis stated. “I used to be proud to assist three payments right now to additional our dedication to veterans. Florida stays probably the most veteran-friendly state within the nation.”
