Fort Lauderdale welcomes search-and-rescue K9 Scout

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Three-year-old K9 Scout was at his Fort Lauderdale Fireplace Rescue badge-pinning ceremony on Thursday to affix USAR Process Pressure Two.

Fireplace Chief Stephen Gollan praised Erick Swartz, a firefighter, for coaching the search-and-rescue American Area Labrador to earn the nationwide Dwell Discover Certification in December.

Scout, a lieutenant, was eight weeks outdated when his coaching to answer emergencies began and the division expects him to work about eight years earlier than retirement.
