OCALA, Fla. (WFLA) — A former Florida deputy is accused of robbing a financial institution over the weekend.
The Ocala Police Division stated officers have been referred to as to a theft on the TD Financial institution on Southeast seventeenth Road round 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
Police stated the suspect, recognized as Christina Gates Thagard, had handed a notice to the financial institution teller, telling them that “this was a theft and that she was armed with a gun.”
Investigators stated Thaggard fled the financial institution with greater than $5,000 earlier than officers arrived.
Inside 11 minutes, officers stated they positioned Thagard driving westbound on Southwest School Street close to the School of Central Florida.
The stolen cash, a medical glove and different proof tied to the theft have been present in Thagard’s automobile, in keeping with Ocala police.
Thagard was charged with theft with a firearm and brought to the Marion County Jail.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Workplace informed WESH that Thagard had beforehand labored for them as a deputy.
