ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — The previous co-owner of a karate studio in Orange Metropolis was arrested Thursday after he was accused of getting illegal sexual exercise with a 17-year-old, in keeping with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Workplace.
The sheriff’s workplace mentioned that Jason Mummaw, 55, was arrested for crimes that started again in 2022 on the All-American Karate studio.
Incidents had been initially reported to DeLand and Orange Metropolis police in December of 2023 earlier than VSO was notified and launched their investigation after an alleged incident in Deltona.
VSO mentioned that Mummaw is not a co-owner of the All-American Karate Studio, the place he taught from 2016 to 2023.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Workplace and Orange Metropolis Police Division have charged Mummaw with illegal sexual exercise with a minor and sexual battery of a minor by an individual ready of authority.
Mummaw is being held within the Volusia County jail with out bond.
