MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida market supervisor was arrested Thursday in a scheme to steal over $275,000 price of meals help program advantages, authorities instructed NBC affiliate WTVJ.
In line with an arrest warrant obtained by the information station, Fideli Othman Mohamad labored because the supervisor of the Seven Star Market in Liberty Metropolis, which accepted Supplemental Vitamin Help Program or SNAP advantages.
Investigators mentioned Othman Mohamad used faux checks and solid signatures to divert about $275,000 over 6 months, beginning in Aug. 2022.
The information station reported that the funds have been speculated to go to different meals markets, however ended up in Othman Mohamad’s financial institution accounts.
The arrest report mentioned Othman Mohamad used the funds to purchase gadgets at Macy’s, JCPenney, Costco, Sam’s Membership, Publix, Greenback Tree, and elsewhere.
Authorities mentioned she even used the cash to pay her utility payments and withdrew 1000’s from ATMS.
Data confirmed she faces prices of first-degree grand theft and fraudulently utilizing identification data. She was booked into jail and is being held on on $100,000 bond.
