UMATILLA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Eustis man is behind bars after he reportedly attacked kids at a bus cease on Friday, the Lake County Sheriff’s Workplace stated.
Based on investigators, 59-year-old Arthur James Younger tried to run over three center schoolers whereas they waited for his or her bus simply after 8:30 a.m.
Deputies reported that an individual on the scene intervened to guard the kids and referred to as 9-1-1.
After the incident, Younger reportedly fled the scene earlier than stopping to assault a teenage lady strolling to the bus cease. Younger allegedly exited his black Dodge Ram pickup and bodily grabbed the teenager, holding her down and trying to choke her earlier than different residents got here to her rescue.
“The rapid and heroic actions of the complainant and different residents within the space doubtless saved lives and allowed responding regulation enforcement personnel to apprehend Younger inside minutes of the preliminary name being obtained,” the sheriff’s workplace stated in a press release.
Younger was taken to an area hospital for analysis and is being charged with aggravated assault, little one abuse, and kidnapping.
