LAKE CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida man has pleaded responsible to assaulting a feminine Veterans Affairs police officer, in response to the Division of Justice.
Jeffrey Sager, 55, is accused of strolling into the Lake Metropolis VA Medical Middle in February 2024 and locking himself in a triage room with a nurse.
The DOJ mentioned Sager started berating the nurse, who then hit a silent panic alarm. When VA police responded, Sager refused to open the triage room door.
Officers ultimately bought contained in the room, however Sager took off into the hallway. A feminine officer caught as much as Sager, and so they each fell to the ground as he resisted.
Sager then kicked the officer within the shoulder to attempt to escape, in response to the DOJ. The officer dislocated and fractured her shoulder. He was taken into custody.
Sager now faces a most of eight years in federal jail. A sentencing date has not but been scheduled.
