    Florida couple sentenced after starving 11-month-old daughter to death

    LAKE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida couple was sentenced to jail on Monday after their 11-month-old daughter was starved to loss of life greater than three years in the past.

    In September 2021, Leesburg cops have been referred to as to the couple’s dwelling after their 11-month-old daughter was reported unresponsive.

    Officers stated the couple’s dwelling was in “deplorable situations with a heavy odor of rubbish and rotting meals all through the home.”

    Legislation enforcement officers discovered the 11-month-old unresponsive in a unclean playpen.

    The newborn was coated in dust and dried feces. First responders tried life-saving measures on the kid however weren’t profitable. The newborn was pronounced deceased.

    Investigators questioned the couple, who instructed them the sufferer and their 3-year-old baby have been completely satisfied and wholesome.

    A medical expert stated the infant had not eaten in roughly two to 3 days and was extraordinarily malnourished.

    Margaret Lehman, 27, and Mark Edward Brittian Jr., 30, have been arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter for the negligent loss of life of their baby. Their different baby was positioned within the care of relations.

    On Monday, the Fifth Judicial Circuit State Lawyer’s Workplace stated Lehman and Brittian have been adjudicated responsible within the tragic loss of life of their 11-month-old daughter, Marcelyn Brittian.

    The choose sentenced Lehman to 13 years in jail and Brittian to 13.25 years in jail.

    “That is disgusting, probably the most susceptible of our society has been victimized by probably the most evil. At the very least in jail, they’re going to each obtain meals, in contrast to their harmless baby,” stated Invoice Gladson, State Lawyer for the Fifth Judicial Circuit.
