    Florida charter captain arrested after viral confrontation with fisherman, police say

    PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida constitution captain on the heart of a viral video has been arrested and booked into jail on a housebreaking cost, the Punta Gorda Police Department stated Friday night time.

    Police stated they interviewed a number of individuals who have been concerned or current on the time of the April 1 incident and have been capable of set up possible trigger to criminally cost 40-year-old Brock Horner.

    Within the video, which has been broadly shared throughout the web, Horner could be seen yelling and cursing at fisherman Gage Towles earlier than climbing onto his boat.

    Investigators stated Horner escalated the scenario right into a felony offense when he threatened Towles and “unlawfully boarded” his boat.

    The cost towards Horner falls underneath Florida Statute 810.02(2)(A) – Housebreaking with Assault or Battery (non-forced entry). 

    He was positioned underneath arrest and, as of Friday night time, remained in custody on the Charlotte County Jail.

    “This sort of conduct is not going to be tolerated in our waterways — or wherever else in our metropolis,” stated Punta Gorda Police Chief Pam Smith. “We’re dedicated to making sure the security of our residents and guests, each on land and on the water.” 

    Chief Smith plans to carry a press convention at 8 a.m. on April 5 to additional focus on the incident.

    Along with the police division’s investigation, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fee and america Coast Guard are conducting separate investigations because of the location and nature of the incident.
