5 folks had been rescued Sunday afternoon after their boat caught hearth within the space of Julington Creek and the St. Johns River, in keeping with St. Johns County Fire Rescue crews.
Round 12:15 p.m., St. Johns County Fireplace Rescue stated it, together with the Jacksonville Fireplace Rescue Division and Clay County Fireplace Rescue, responded to a reported boat hearth.
SJCFR stated crews arrived on scene to discover a sailboat “totally concerned” and its 5 occupants within the water.
All people had been sporting lifejackets and had been safely rescued by a Good Samaritan who introduced them to shore, in keeping with SJCFR.
Officers add that Jacksonville Fireplace Rescue crews assisted with extinguishing the hearth and that nobody was injured because of the flames.
The reason for the hearth is underneath investigation by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation.
