    Blown tire sparks fire, panic on American Airlines flight bound for MIA

    Blown tire causes fireplace on American Airways flight from Denver to Miami

    DENVER — Passengers on a Miami-bound American Airways flight rushed to evacuate after a doable blown tire sparked a small fireplace and compelled an emergency cease throughout takeoff in Denver on Saturday.

    “Someone stated smoke … fireplace! After which lots of people began panicking and stuff,” stated Mark Tsurkis, a passenger on the flight.

    The Boeing 737 Max was accelerating down the runway when passengers reported listening to a loud noise.

    “We heard a loud increase, and I stated that’s not good,” Tsurkis stated.

    The flight, carrying 173 passengers, got here to an abrupt cease earlier than takeoff.

    American Airways stated the mixture of blown tires and sudden braking brought on the hearth. It was rapidly extinguished by emergency crews.

    Authorities stated one passenger was taken to an area hospital with accidents.

    They stated the plane has been taken out of service for inspection by the airline’s upkeep staff.

    “We’re simply fortunate every part ended up good and what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” Tsurkis stated.

    Authorities additionally confirmed that the passengers who had been on the aircraft had been placed on one other American Airways flight that landed at MIA late Saturday evening.
