    JSO, city officials honor officer shot in the line of duty in 2023

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Workplace and metropolis officers will maintain a particular presentation Monday morning to honor an officer shot within the line of responsibility in 2023.

    Councilman Ron Salem, Sheriff T.Ok. Waters and different officers will honor JSO Officer Malik Daricaud, who was shot in March 2023 whereas responding to an investigation at a home on Ridgeview Avenue. He was shot within the neck and continues to be recovering from a spinal twine harm.

    After 400 days in rehabilitation, Daricaud walked out of Brooks Rehabilitation in April 2024.

    “I didn’t assume I’d get this far,” Daricaud stated the day he left rehab.
