KEY WEST, Fla. – Authorities took greater than a dozen Cuban migrants into custody late Sunday evening after they landed close to Key West Worldwide Airport.
In accordance with Key West police, 16 migrants got here ashore: 5 ladies and 11 males.
Authorities mentioned they responded to South Roosevelt Boulevard, detained six migrants and later discovered the others.
All had Cuban identifications and passports, police mentioned.
Police mentioned medics took two migrants to Decrease Keys Medical Heart “attributable to dehydration and lack of feeling of their extremities.”
The remaining had been handed over to the U.S. Border Patrol and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fee secured their boat.
