    Marijuana proposal garners more than 600K signatures for 2026 ballot

    FLORIDA – Backers of a proposed constitutional modification that may permit leisure use of marijuana have submitted greater than 600,000 petition signatures as they attempt to put the measure on the 2026 poll.

    The state Division of Elections web site Tuesday showed 613,206 valid signatures for the proposal, sponsored by the Good & Protected Florida political committee.

    The proposal is just like a 2024 poll proposal that fell wanting the required 60 p.c voter assist for passage. Good & Protected Florida would wish to submit no less than 880,062 legitimate signatures statewide and meet signature necessities in congressional districts to get on the 2026 poll.
