    Migrants detained at Florida detention center spell "SOS" with bodies

    MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) — Dozens of detainees being held on the Krome Detention Middle in Miami got here collectively to spell out “SOS” within the courtyard on Thursday, as a protest in opposition to President Donald Trump’s mass deportation efforts.

    In March, the president revoked momentary humanitarian parole for about 300,000 Cubans amidst a historic wave of migration from the island, which prompted the earlier Biden administration to start slicing again on Cuban migrants.

    In Tampa, a Cuban-born mother who was still breastfeeding was detained throughout a routine check-in appointment at an ICE workplace again in April. She was deported two days later.

    Video exhibits the detainees wearing white gathering within the courtyard of the detention heart as they spell out the misery sign with their our bodies. They are often seen kneeling, with some waving their shirts within the air.

    In keeping with NBC affiliate WTVJ, experiences have poured in regarding an absence of meals and water, medical neglect, and unsanitary confinement for these being detained on the detention heart. Nonetheless, the Trump administration shut down the Division of Homeland Safety in April, which was in control of investigating the claims.
