    TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A person convicted of raping and killing a girl close to a central Florida bar has been scheduled for execution in Florida below a loss of life warrant signed Friday by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, the seventh this 12 months.

    Thomas Lee Gudinas, 51, is about to die by deadly injection June 24 at Florida State Jail close to town of Starke.

    Gudinas was convicted in 1995 and sentenced to loss of life for the homicide of Michelle McGrath.
