TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — Gov. Ron DeSantis has ordered all United States and the State of Florida flags to fly at half-staff on Monday, April 28.
Recognizing the fallen officers of Florida who paid the last word sacrifice, the Florida State Fraternal Order of Police will honor the bravery and repair of those legislation enforcement officers.
All flags at native and state buildings, installations and grounds will fly at half-staff from dawn to sundown on Monday.
The governor’s flag protocol states he can order the State flag to half-staff “on applicable events, comparable to on holidays and upon the dying of high-ranking state officers, uniformed legislation enforcement and fireplace service personnel, and distinguished residents.”
“If you fly the flag, you aren’t solely demonstrating your patriotism, however you’re additionally honoring those that devoted their lives to constructing this nation and people who gave their lives to defend it,” a message from the Secretary reads partially.
The flag will not be solely an emblem of American values, however signifies correct respect and honor when lowered to half-staff.
