PALM COAST, Fla. (WFLA) — A person was sentenced to fifteen years in jail for the deadly shooting of an 18-month-old in 2023, in line with the State Lawyer’s Workplace.
In a listening to Thursday, C.J. Nelson Jr. was sentenced to fifteen years after pleading responsible to manslaughter with a firearm in February.
On Sept. 3, 2023, Nelson, 21 on the time, was dealing with and posing with a rifle for social media photos at a Palm Coast home when he inadvertently pulled the set off, taking pictures a bullet by the wall.
In the meantime, an 18-month-old toddler was taking part in within the hallway together with her mom when the bullet struck her within the head, killing her.
In accordance with the State Lawyer’s Workplace, Nelson was on probation on the time of the taking pictures and prohibited from possessing, carrying, or proudly owning firearms.
“The mom witnessed her daughter’s demise by the hands of the toddler’s uncle and the mom’s brother,” State Lawyer R.J. Larizza stated. “It’s exhausting to think about a extra heart-wrenching situation.”
A launch from the State Lawyer’s Workplace stated the sentencing was carried out by Decide Daybreak Nichols.
