    DNA testing identifies 2 people found dead in JetBlue landing gear at Florida airport

    FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WFLA) — Authorities introduced Thursday that they’ve recognized two teenagers whose our bodies have been discovered within the touchdown gear of a JetBlue airplane earlier this 12 months.

    The Broward Sheriff’s Workplace instructed WPLG that the victims have been recognized as Jeik Aniluz Lusi, 18, and Elvis Borques Castillo, 16, after “intensive DNA testing.”

    A JetBlue spokesperson previously said the our bodies have been found on Jan. 6 within the touchdown gear compartment of the airplane throughout a “routine post-flight upkeep inspection.”

    In line with flight knowledge, the plane had a busy schedule. It flew from Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, to New York’s JFK Airport on Sunday. It then flew routes between Jamaica, New York, and Salt Lake Metropolis, Utah, earlier than ending in South Florida.

    Aviation legal professional and pilot John Gagliano instructed CBS News Miami that an airplane’s undercarriage is without doubt one of the deadliest locations an individual can try and stow away.

    “It’s totally, very loud,” Gagliano instructed the information station. “It’s totally chilly, and there is no air to breathe. So, it is a very harmful stunt to drag.”

    “It is a heartbreaking state of affairs, and we’re dedicated to working carefully with authorities to help their efforts to know how this occurred,” JetBlue Company Communications stated.

    In line with WPLG, the victims’ reason behind demise has not but been launched. The sheriff’s workplace instructed the information station that autopsies have been carried out on each victims.
