(WJW) – An Ohio firm is recalling 15,000 circumstances of oyster crackers that may be contaminated by steel.
Shearer’s Meals, headquartered in Massillon, issued a voluntary recall for the crackers offered throughout the U.S. below retailer labels at Aldi, Walmart and Large Eagle in February.
The crackers could also be contaminated with chrome steel wire, which led the U.S. Meals and Drug Administration to issue a Class II level classification.
A Stage II means publicity “might trigger non permanent or medically reversible adversarial well being penalties,” according to the FDA.
Along with Ohio, the crackers had been distributed to shops in Alabama, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
