    Miami Beach police deploy drones to keep an eye on spring break crowds

    MIAMI (WFLA) — Miami Seaside police are taking to the skies to crack down on rowdy spring break crowds.

    The brand new airborne first responder, the Skydio X10 drone, is the primary of its type in Florida, in response to a report from NBC affiliate WTVJ.

    Police stated the drone may give them a chicken’s eye view of anyplace within the metropolis inside a minute of launching.

    “Gives information in actual time so we are able to use information to make key choices within the discipline for our cops,” police chief Wayne Jones stated.

    The brand new drone is simply one of many instruments police use to keep watch over issues of their new “Actual Time Intelligence Heart,” together with over 800 cameras mounted throughout the town. Miami Seaside Mayor Steven Meiner stated the town offers police “one of the best know-how” to reply to potential points as 1000’s of spring breakers descend on South Florida.

    This comes as metropolis leaders launched a marketing campaign to announce they had been “breaking apart with spring break” after years of chaos and violence through the season, which police have largely attributed to individuals from outdoors the world coming in to trigger hassle.
