COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. – Two ladies had been killed Wednesday evening in a head-on crash with a pickup truck on U.S. 441 at County Street 778 in Columbia County, in keeping with the Florida Freeway Patrol.
The ladies had been in an SUV headed south on Freeway 441 after they crossed into oncoming site visitors close to the CR 778 intersection, troopers stated.
In response to the FHP report, a pickup truck being pushed by a 62-year-old man was stopped within the left flip lane on the northbound facet of the intersection, and one other pickup being pushed by a 19-year-old man was headed north on U.S. 441, approaching the CR 778 intersection.
Troopers stated the SUV sideswiped the truck that was stopped within the flip lane, continued heading the incorrect method after which slammed head-on into the opposite pickup.
The 72-year-old girl driving the SUV and her 64-year-old passenger, each from Fort White, had been taken to completely different hospitals. Neither had been carrying a seat belt, in keeping with the report.
Each ladies died on the hospital.
The person driving the truck that was sideswiped was not damage, troopers stated. The 19-year-old, who’s from Lake Butler, took himself to the hospital with minor accidents, in keeping with FHP.
Each males had been carrying seat belts.
