MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. (WFLA) — Two building staff have been killed when a crane collapsed in Florida on Wednesday.
Well being First informed NBC affiliate WESH that the collapse occurred at their building website on Borman Drive.
Officers stated the collapse was attributable to a “severe weather-related incident on the Cape Canaveral Hospital Development website.”
The Nationwide Climate Service stated there have been studies of wind gusts round 50 miles per hour on the time of the collapse.
The Brevard County Sheriff’s Workplace and the Occupational Security and Well being Administration are investigating the incident.
Gilbane, the development administration firm on the venture, stated the employees have been employed by Baker Concrete and one other commerce contractor.
“We share our deepest condolences with the households, family members, and colleagues,” Gilbane officers stated in a press release to WESH. “The positioning is safe, and work is at the moment suspended. We’re supporting our commerce contractors and dealing with them and the authorities on an energetic investigation to grasp the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
